The research team were invited for lunch to gain a deeper understanding of how the café operates. The recovery café is a project that is run by volunteers and its facilities are aimed towards people who are in recovery from alcohol addiction. The café is situated in the center of Edinburgh near the Scottish Parliament and Holyrood Palace. As well as offering a relaxed environment for socialising, the café has an activities programme and offers members opportunities to volunteer and gain new skills.
As the study will be recruiting the participants from the café a provisional informal meeting was arranged to inform the participants interested of its nature and give them the opportunity to find out more about the study and ask questions. It was also decided that the café was a more suitable venue than the National Portrait Gallery to run the Camera Training Workshop in January as all the participants are comfortable there.
